What I Have Been Doing? My Progress Report, Part One!

**This is a two part series. Stay tuned Part Two will be published a few minutes after this one**

My dear readers. You know all about my struggle.

What Happened? My Previous Blog!

Winter

These pictures are from February 2018. No new progress pictures since there has been no progress.

Summer and Fall

Very sad, all summer and into fall. Binge eating has  gotten the best the worst of me. Still no progress.

December 10-14

I needed a dress for a Christmas party. Bought several dresses online. All them bought were returned for some reason or other. They didn't fit.

One of the dresses was so thin and such poor quality. It even had a slit up to my waist. This was supposed to be a faux wrap dress. The "wrap" part of the dress had two inches of overlap. The slit would not stay closed. Unless I wanted to stand still the whole party.

Realizing that I would need a slip underneath this cheap dress. The faux wrap with no overlap. Made it so that I needed a whole dress. Underneath my dress.

Went to the mall in search of a party dress looked in so many stores. Couldn't find anything that fit or even really liked. Or anything really in an acceptable price range. At least I didn't have a meltdown in the fitting room. Okay I had a meltdown in the fitting room. Being shaped like a rectangle doesn't help, at all.

Finally found a beautiful dress at Ross Dress for Less. It was $12.99. Should have gone there first! I already knew what shoes I wanted to wear. So I had to find a dress as fabulous as the shoes.

Found them at Burlington!

December 18

Went to the doctor for a routine physical and need to go for further testing. Something in my lower abdomen is not quite right.

Then I also have a routine imaging test that all women must go through. Although, you men should have it done, too!

Last Week of 2018

This year after hitting 148.8 pounds. This simply will not do. Somethings gotta give. I cannot keep gaining weight.

I feel like I am on a merry go round. I pop up to 147.4. Then I start losing and it takes four weeks to get 144. Then along comes my period and boom! I am right back at 147.4. Please stop this roller coaster ride. I want to get off.

Longing for daffodils and tulips
When you are so over winter, but winter is so not over you

Beginning of 2019
Follow up appointments for the further testing. I can say that I haven't binged. Not since December 18th. This is all very stressful.

    Both tests were quite unpleasant!

Follow Up Tests for Medical Problems
The news back from the radiology. Both tests were fine. The ultrasound came back as okay. That situation will be monitored.

The other test was routine and it was fine as well.

Please read Part Two. Link Below!

What Can I Change in Eight Weeks? Part Three

Still using Marbles to measure my weight loss.
I think officially I have lost two marbles, hahahahahaha!
This is a good kind of marbles to lose though

I am so glad that you are back. I appreciate my readers so much!

Week Five
Part One of this blog What I Can Change in Eight Weeks!
Part two What I Can Change! Part Two!

 *January 15*
Monday
Hair appointment tomorrow! Getting my hair done is one of my favorite things.

Sharing pictures of this cutie because I can.
Definitely not a shaggy dog. Just a sweet little dust bunny
*Jan 16*
Tuesday
Learned something new. The frigid cold air. Has kept the snow totals low. Some how it creates a barrier and keeps the snow off the coast. That is really great. Snow ruins everything. Winter ruins everything. Winter is Evil!

After
Before

*Jan 17*
Wednesday
Dusting of heavier snow today. Still easy to clean up. I got my first flu shot, ever.
The Flu season has just been awful. Plus I just watched the Spanish Flu episode of Downton Abbey. I bet they would have gotten a vaccine if it had been available.

*Jan 18*
Thursday
Small setback and a little meltdown! Pity Party table for one! Wondered why do I even bother? Felt like quitting. Then I got down to business. Went and did my Thursday exercise.

Once again!
Time to cue the tiny violin

Tried Kombucha yesterday. I love it! Kind of spendy, but hopefully the probiotics will keep sickness at bay.

My old girl is going to be 14 this year!

*Jan 19*
Friday
The weather was beautiful today. I wish we could keep this weather. It will be very beautiful for a couple days, at least

*Jan 20*
Saturday
Today is my dad's birthday!
This is an interesting day. How to eat birthday cake and enjoy myself. Without going crazy.
Dad wanted Steak for his birthday dinner
Boiled some potatoes with it
Mom doesn't like Steak. So she had turkey
Meatballs and pasta.
Which turned out to be awful. Sorry mom
I did good today. There was no binging and I did exercise.

The Steak was great, but this is what I really want

*Jan 21*
Sunday
Last Week 141.5
This Week 140.7

A life without cake is no life at all
Or at least a very sad one. A life
without cake makes me 'that diet person'

Week Six

*Jan 22*
Monday
This is usually the time that I give up. Resolve to do better next time.  Or I will start over again, tomorrow. They tell me the definition of insanity. Is doing the same thing over and over. While expecting a different result.
No more insanity!

*Jan 23*
Tuesday
Had some distressing news. I am not going to feed my sadness with food.

*Jan 24*
Wednesday
Has it been 21 days yet? I heard that to make something a habit takes 21 days. It is taking me a little longer.

What do you do?
When your mom makes homemade pound cake?
You eat a slice. At least I do. I am not going to turn down cake.
Ever!

She looks so cute! Just had to share

*Jan 25*
Thursday
Was feeling a little blah. That my progress isn't is fast as I would like. Then I remembered. Rapid progress means I gain the weight back. Just as quickly. I want this weight to be gone forever. I want to be the 5% that finds success. Not the 95% that fails over and over.

*Jan 26*
Friday
Tried to talk myself out of exercising. All the way through.
Time to change it up a bit.

*Jan 27*
Saturday
I was planning on changing my exercise plan on Monday. Now I'm not so sure. Maybe I will, maybe I won't.

*Jan 28*
Sunday
A dress I wore for Christmas is a little loose.
Not as loose as I would like. I still have a lot of work to do.

Last week 140.7
This week 139.6

What Can I Change in Eight Weeks?

If you fail to plan. You plan to fail. Or so I've been told.
This book is not a planner. It's a journal

I have been really excited about this idea. Just couldn't wait to share it with you. My blog journal of what eight weeks of commitment could look like. The plan was to post all eight weeks together. Blogger started acting all funny about Week Three. So it has to be published in a four part series. Ah Well Blogger is free. Guess I can't complain, much?

Starting today! Exercise six days a week. Plus tracking all calories every day. Using the Spark People website (No Excuses)
Along with blogging my feelings and experiences.

Week One

*December 18 & 19*
Monday and Tuesday
Starting Out Weight 142.6

Here I go again! This feels a lot like last year. Hoping this year will be different. I didn't track my food on these two days. Already messed up. Must recover and move on. Fall seven times and get up eight!

 *Dec 20*
Wednesday
Only day three and just before getting up. I was trying to find any excuse to talk myself out of exercising.  Did it anyway. Also started tracking my food on Spark People today.

*Dec 21*
Thursday
I love to eat. Eating for comfort is my biggest obstacle. I can eat even when stuffed.

*Dec 22*
Friday
Out of the house most of the day.
I am so tired and don't want to exercise.
(I did exercise, made myself do it. Patting myself on the back)

*Dec 23*
Saturday
Christmas is my favorite time of year. Love cooking and being domestic. Gifts are my love language. Giving them and I don't mind receiving them!

Goody Bags For My Children's Church Kids

*Dec 24*
Christmas Eve
Sunday
Will track my weight every Sunday
Sunday weight 142.2

God always knows what we need and when. That is all I have to say about that.

Week Two

*Dec 25*
Christmas Day!
Monday
Opened presents. Put the turkey in the oven. Went and did my Monday exercises. (No Excuses) I knew that later in the day I would be too exhausted.

On Holidays, my previous exercise. Would be coming up and justifying why I wouldn't exercise. Then binging on all the yummy food around. Then saying, Oh well! There is always tomorrow.

*Dec 26*
Tuesday
One year anniversary of my mother's stroke. So thankful that she is still with us. Didn't have any bad side effects.
I love my mom so much.

*Dec 27*
Wednesday
Comfort eating is the worst obstacle to weight loss. Mad, sad, happy or upset. Even when I am not even hungry.
There is a really funny story about this purse, in this blog
New Year's Resolutions

*Dec 28 & 29*
Thursday and Friday
Over this Arctic cold snap. Simply over it.

Friday Workout Music
A very old CD
That is Compact Disc for all you youngins

*Dec 30*
Saturday
We had a very light snow fall overnight. It was fluffy and easy to sweep. I don't like snow. This type of snow is tolerable. Got out early shoveled and put ice melt down.

Saturday Workout music.
Found a box of old CD's
Needed some upbeat music

*Dec 31*
New Year's Eve
Sunday

Last week 142.2
This Week 141.8

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to be more positive. I am having trouble. It is so hateful cold and frigid. It is hard to stop complaining.

Sunday is usually the day that I binge eat. With the temperatures. I would give myself permission to overeat. Oh! I will start again tomorrow. That is what I would tell myself. Then I would be sad. The scale doesn't lie. It would give me away. Then I would eat more. The harmful cycle would continue. Must break that destructive cycle.

Two weeks done six to go!
December 18-31

The Start of something very good!

I Haven't Given Up!

There hasn't been a blog in a while, but haven't given up! Before going on Vacation in June. I had finally gotten down to 140 lbs. Then went on a lovely trip to visit family. After arrivng home and weighing! I was so excited because I had only gained .09 of a pound! Then there was a major setback and gained five pounds. At 145 lbs that was my highest weight in ten years. My biggest adversary is binge eating. Then I had to make a choice. Would all the weight that had been lost over ten years ago. Be gained back? (ten years ago, I weighed 160lbs) Or would this whole scale creeping up thing. Be gotten under control. And work to lose the weight again? My choice was to lose the weight again.

As previously stated my biggest nemesis is binge eating. It happens when depressed or stressed. The last couple binges. The ones that caused my sharp weight increase. Were just because. No really good reason. Just because I could. Didn't make one lick of sense. I knew what the outcome would be while shoving my face full of food. Binges don't always make sense. One knows what the outcome will be, but does it anyway.

From now on, I'm only going to blog. At every five pounds
Another blog at 140
Progress Picture at 135

It's a very sad day
when you have to remove the marbles from your
progress jar

Even though this picture was taken in May!
This is what yours truly looks like currently!
At 145 lbs 😭

June Results!

These are the results for June. The weigh in for May was 143.3 and weigh in for June is 141.8. A loss of 1.7 lbs. I achieved this by using a mix of Spark People and the old Weight Watchers Points Plus. With Points Plus. I didn't necessarily stick to 26 points a day. I tried to stay in the 26-30 point range. It is okay if my points are over thirty. Just don't want them too far over thirty.

May 143.3 and June 141.8
Slow and steady wins the race
I refuse to use diet products to win that race

When I started doing this I was at 139. Now my weight is like a pin ball just bouncing around. Trying to get back to 139 and stop the bouncing around. Yes weight fluctuates from day to day. I just want it to fluctuate on the downward. Soon I will be taking a picture of 139. Then taking a picture when there is a greater weight loss.

This isn't for everyone. Personally, I weigh myself everyday. That helps me to stay on track. Then again, I realize that my weight will fluctuate and it doesn't upset me when that happens. If you step on the scale. And normal fluctuation from one day to another is devastating. Then weighing everyday. Is probably not a good idea for you.

My first goal is to get to 139 and under
Without the constant bouncing back and
forth.

Telling someone just starting out. You have to find the keys that unlock your health. Yours may be vastly different from mine. I am not going to pretend like my diet is superior. Which honestly it's not. If it were though. I wouldn't act like me and my diet were so superior to you and your diet. I dislike people that do that. It's like when they lose the weight. They get amnesia and forget they were once in the same place.

Isn't this just the cutest idea? Must give Spark People credit. I would have never thought of it. I got the jars from TJ Maxx (I heart Pineapples) The marbles came from Amazon. The large marbles represent pounds. The smaller marbles represent ounces.
A cute idea that I got from Spark People
As I lose weight I move the marbles to the jar on
the right
I would have done this last week. My period and water weight gain, said ummm no! Although I don't mind getting my period. I am not going to complain. The water weight gain? Not so much!
June 2017 141.8

June 2017 141.8

June 2017 141.8

I have been working on my exercise goals. Not quite there yet. Not anywhere near my goals yet. Refuse to give up!

May Results! No Longer the Ugly Truth!

Getting these progress pictures was so difficult. It was like pulling teeth. So I'm only going to post monthly pictures and not weekly. If I could be honest! I am not very motivated, but I'm not giving up! I won't give up, but I just can't seem to get motivated. I feel unmotivated and irritated. This free blog site isn't helping one bit. With the irritation.

A day trip to the beach. Which was absolutely wonderful. Resulted in eating a lot of yummy food. That wasn't at all good for me. Which resulted in a significant weight gain. I now weigh 143.3.

So esessentially, I am starting again. All over again.

In the blog world. There's always a pressure to be always positive. Always be perfect. Always talk about how much you love exercise and healthy eating. Then there's my blog and I will always tell you the truth.

I will tell you how it's hard and you may not feel motivated. Now I need to close, save and publish this blog before I get really upset. I'm thankful for this free blog but, it's worth every penny. Which isn't much. It's pretty obnoxious in fact. With its cursor jumping all over the place. Deleting pictures, when I don't want them deleted. Changing the font in mid sentence.

I won't endorse weight loss products. Ads should never be seen as an endorsement.

This is my journey. I'm not a doctor. Visit your healthcare proffesionals before starting your journey. blah, blah, blah you know the drill
