Ugly Truth! Week Seven! No Rest for the Wicked!

Usually on Week Seven. I take a week long break from exercise. With the grand plan of starting up again with a brand new exercise routine in Week Eight. That never happens. Never seeming to get back the momentum that was achieved in weeks One through Six. Then weeks pass and no exercise has happened. So I am going to take a different approach. Since, "If you always do, what you always did, you will always get what you always got." So that quote is attributed to, Tony Robbins, Henry Ford, Albert Einstein and that guy we all know and love A. Nony Mous. The cousin of Many Moore. (Buh Dum Tsh: I'll be here all week!Try the salmon!)

137.3 This Week
138.0 Last Week
I think I am seeing progress.
Even if the weight loss is really slow.

Last week there was so much drama. I usually use drama as an excuse to avoid exercise. And hide under the covers. Simply because drama and life upset me a lot. If I don't leave my bed, drama can't touch me. Even though hiding under the covers solves nothing. Although, Monday, if you could please just show up one week without drama. That'd be great!

So aiming for five to six days a week of exercise. Last week I achieved four days of exercise. Which is better than what usually  happens.  No more using drama as an excuse to avoid exercise.

I think there is progress? Maybe?
Am I seeing things?

The neat thing that I found last week. Virtual 5k's from US Road Running. You choose the race. You run them at your own pace. On the day that you choose. Best of all you get a medal! You can also spend a little extra and get a t-shirt! So cool! Or you could do One Mile or a Half Marathon. Whatever you choose. Totally love the idea. Totally dislike the idea of getting up on race day at dawn. You can choose the time that you run/ walk it as well. The best of both worlds.

My back. I never worked on my back
muscles. So it's no wonder that it is
taking so long. Even if it is irritating!
I want it all and I want it NOW!

Ugly Truth! Week Four! When Things Don't Go Your Way!

Hmmmm! What do you do? When your sweet senior Rat Terrier has tummy trouble all over your exercise clothes. Can't blame her. That's what you get when they fall on the floor. Then you don't pick them up right away. Be grateful that you have a few extra exercise outfits! Anyway, thanks Mandie. You gave me an idea. It will unfold in the next couple weeks. So stay tuned!

Today's Weight 136.9
Down 3.3 total pounds
Down 7 ounces from starting weight

So I am down 3.3 pounds total from the last two weeks. Which isn't really recommended. A good safe rate to lose weight is 1-2 pounds per week. It becomes even slower the closer you get to your goal weight.

The reason for including my weight loss from the start of this blog. Is because I don't intend to have to lose this weight again. Having yo yo dieted all my life. I have lost and gained a person. This is the last time that this weight will be lost.

Here's a bit of my story. I started out many years ago at 160 lbs. Then got down to 140 lbs. Hovered around 140 lbs for years. Then joined Weight Watchers and got down to 125 lbs. Then gained twenty pounds back. Back to hovering around 140 lbs. So my goal is to get back down to 125. I feel like I can get there. In a safe and healthy manner. Even if I could lose enough fat and build lean muscle. If I only looked like I was 125 lbs. That would be great, too.

I got cleavage!
Okay so it is in the wrong location,
but I got cleavage!
Hahahahaha!
Actually Mandie did do me a favor. I was getting bored with the other exercise outfit. On my phone it was getting really hard to tell the weeks apart. When I get bored.  That usually causes me to give up. Don't want to do that!

What is Fabulous about Winter?

This is going to be a really short blog. I couldn't answer my own question. No matter how hard I tried. Couldn't think of anything fabulous about Winter. For a minute or two, I thought, when it snows. Then I remembered how I have to shovel it. That really ruins the moment. Or when it becomes dirty and just won't melt

Then I was thinking with anticipation. How the tulips and daffodils are poking their delicate little heads out of the ground. In anticipation of Spring. And how on the news they have just announced the dates for the Cherry Blossom Festival. And I think of my own Cherry Tree blooming in all it's pink and white glory. And that gives me hope.

And then you walk into stores and past your knit hat. You see sandals, flip flops and swimsuits. Next to the shorts, t-shirts and sundresses. And you lift your knit hat off of your forehead, to see the wonderful spring and summer clothes. You don't dare take your knit hat off. You know that hat hair is so not fabulous. The wonderful spring apparel says, don't worry winter will soon pass. You won't have to wear seventeen layers of clothes for long.

So thinking really hard. I figured out that what makes winter fabulous is when it is over. I cannot lie. I wanted to write a positive blog, but it rang false. I knew that my smart readers would see right through me. Not only are my friends and readers smart. They are also fabulous for reading my blog.

That being said. I am not going to complain about Summer. I love Summer and will love it even more when the current season is a distant memory. And if I could figure out how to have Fall, Spring and Summer. Skipping Winter all together. I would sign up for that.
