Something I need to remember! |
If your city doesn't have a Kindness Rocks Project. It is so easy to start. Just paint some rocks and hide them. It is also not terribly expensive.
~Buy or find some rocks.
~Please don't steal landscaping rocks from someones home or business.
~A large container of blue or white acrylic paint
~I think those are the only paint colors that come in large containers?
~When you get into buying varying colors. It can get a bit spendy. ~Paint markers and outdoor shellac.
I use Rustoleum the clear and glossy. I like the paint pens from Michael's Craft stores. I cannot remember the brand. I buy most of my project materials from Michael's Craft Stores.
Make sure to write the city they come from on the back. Plus that you hope for them to take a picture and share it.
Without Pensacola Rocks I would have never learned abou The Kindness Rocks Project |
Be careful where you hide them
~Hiding them in a store may get someone accused of shoplifting. ~You don't want to put them where a lawn mower may pick it up and throw it into a window or something fragile.
~Private property without permission. May get your precious rock thrown away.
In Maryland we are known for our blue crabs. |
The drawback to painting rocks. Is that after you paint them and release them into the world. You may never find out what happened to them. I have painted and hid about twenty. I only know what happened to one. A few of them weren't in the hiding places when I returned. So I hope that they were picked up.
Because YOU are! |
Still hoping that this will catch on. In Laurel Maryland. So far I am the only one that I know of. If you're also out there. Let me know in the comments
A few more close ups of rocks that I painted for this trip. I am sincerely grateful to Pensacola Rocks and the Kindness Rocks Project. Painting rocks is wonderful therapy.
I also love Clovers |
These rocks started out with another idea. They have been repainted several times.
